The Fenix GL22 is the first pistol flashlight in the Fenix brand's lineup designed with small arms users in mind. The flashlight fits most full-size pistols with Glock or MIL-STD-1913 rails, and its lightweight low-profile design makes the Fenix GL22 suitable for concealed carry. The body of the Fenix GL22 is made of durable A6061-T6 aluminum and finished with the HAIII hard anodizing technique. This wear-resistant coating protects the aluminum from oxidation and hardens its surface. The flashlight meets IP66 rating, which means it is resistant to shock, moisture (heavy rain and splashing) and the penetration of fine dust bodies, so it can be used for tactical applications. The mounting bracket is distinguished by increased resistance to recoil. The durability of the mount and the accuracy of the laser (2 MOA) have been confirmed in destructive tests, in which the flashlight is subjected to 10,000 shock tests and simulated 5,000 shots with live ammunition. The flashlight uses a powerful Luminous SST20 LED , a TIR lens and a smooth reflector to provide concentrated light of up to 750 lumens. The range of the reflected light is as much as 180 meters, which enables effective target identification and shooting at longer distances.

The flashlight is additionally equipped with a laser target indicator with a wavelength of 640-660 nm and a laser optical power of < 5 mW. The laser beam indicates the aiming point, which is especially useful when there is no time to properly take a stance or align the aiming instruments.
The laser is adjusted by turning two allen screws on the flashlight's body. The user can use 3 modes of continuous light: white 750 lumens, laser, and white light and laser simultaneously. In addition, you can confuse your attacker by instantly activating the strobe light mode.

In accordance with the requirements of modern weapon flashlights, the Fenix GL22 has a double-sided switch, which can be conveniently operated with the right or left hand. The light modes are changed by a single click of the switch. The Fenix GL22 switch also works in momentary mode, allowing quick access to the strobe, and after holding it for a long time (more than 5 seconds) we can activate the lock, which prevents accidental activation of the light. The functionality of the flashlight is enhanced by the memory function. When the flashlight is turned off and on again, the controller automatically recalls the last used light mode. To power the Fenix GL22, the ARB-L16-700UP rechargeable battery with a charging function via the micro-USB port is used. Thanks to such functionality, the cell can be charged with a power bank, on the go or using a laptop. The battery is mounted from the front of the flashlight (after unscrewing the optics), so replacing the cell does not require taking the flashlight off the weapon.
