TheFenix HM61R V2.0 is a lightweight headlamp with a 1600 lumen output that combines the functions of a headlamp and a standard angle flashlight.
The most important changes compared to the predecessor HM61R
If you are looking for a compact and powerful light source for outdoor use, the HM61R V2.0 will be an excellent choice. All thanks to its sturdy aluminum construction, state-of-the-art SST40 diode emitting a maximum stream of 1600 lumens, easy operation with a single side button and the ability to charge the battery via a magnetic port.
The flashlight's tube is made of anodized aircraft-grade aluminum, which guarantees high resistance to damage and robustness of construction. Thanks to the cross-moleting of the surface, the flashlight does not slip from the hand, and its grip is well felt.
The flashlight measures only 101 mm, with the battery it weighs barely 150 g, so it can constantly accompany us in our daily activities. The angle of the light beam can be easily adjusted up to 180° by rotating the body in the polymer band clamp. Unlike traditional headlamps, the Fenix HM61R V2.0 can be used as a handy angle flashlight when detached from the mount. The new version of the headlamp uses a modified mounting system, which allows you to quickly slide the flashlight out of the clamp. The magnetic tip allows you to attach the flashlight to steel surfaces, which is especially useful for activities that require free hands and a stable light source. The manufacturer also did not forget about a functional clip (removable) that allows you to carry the flashlight on a belt, backpack or pocket.
The main light source is a new generation LUMINUS SST40 LED, emitting a maximum light output of 1600 lumens at a distance of up to 162 m! The neutral light color reduces eye fatigue, provides more natural color rendition and better visibility of details.
The flashlight additionally has a red light ( 2835 diodes ), which is perfect for night operations, because unlike white light it does not blind the user, provides a smooth adaptation of the eyes to see in the dark, facilitates map reading and reduces our visibility. The flashlight uses a modified collimating lens with a thickness of 3 mm, which makes the light beam evenly dispersed and efficiently illuminates the center and sides of the scene in front of us.
The user has 5 modes of white light and 3 modes of red light. All operations related to the operation of the Fenix HM61R, i.e. switching on, off and changing modes, are carried out using a large silicone button (on the side of the flashlight). This guarantees high comfort of use and allows to operate the flashlight also with gloves. The driver used ensures linearoperation, which means that in a given mode the flashlight works until the battery is exhausted without automatically reducing the stream.
A major innovation is the ability to recharge the battery (without removing it from the flashlight) using a magnetic port. When you bring the magnetic cable close to the port, the plug is automatically plugged into the port. Such a solution is very convenient, it protects the port and the cable from mechanical damage (jerking out), and excludes the need to regularly check whether the plug is properly plugged in. The set includes a Fenix ARB-L18-3400 battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh, which, when fully charged, provides up to 2 hours of operation in turbo mode (total time) or 300 hours in economical eco mode. During outdoor activities, it's a good idea to monitor the status of the battery, so the HM61R flashlight features a low-energy warning system and a simple LED indicator to let the user know its condition.
The LED in the side switch indicates the battery level for 3 seconds after activating the flashlight.
When transporting, the flashlight can be locked, going into the so-called lock mode. This protects against accidental activation of the light and uncontrolled depletion of the battery. The flashlight also remembers the last used brightness level (except in Turbo mode).
When turned on again, the flashlight automatically activates in this mode (memory function). The flashlight features a high IP68 rating, which means it is resistant to dust, dust, heavy rain and even full immersion in water (2 m) for 30 minutes. Therefore, the HM61R V2.0 can be used in all weather conditions, for virtually any physical activity. The manufacturer also did not forget to include protection against overheating and reverse polarity, as well as a driver with digital current regulation.
Stable carrying of the flashlight on the head is ensured by an upgraded rubber band, which wicks away sweat and is equipped with reflective inserts to increase our visibility and safety when moving at night on the road or trail.
The light performance was tested using the ARB-L18-3400 battery.
